Cookie Policy
How RentGoshen uses cookies and similar technologies, and how to control them.
RentGoshen ("RentGoshen", "the Platform", "we", "us") uses cookies (small text files placed on your device) and similar technologies when you visit our website. This Cookie Policy explains what these are, why we use them, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small piece of data that a website asks your browser to store on your device. It's typically used to remember information about you, such as your session, so you don't have to re-enter it every time you visit a page. Cookies set by RentGoshen itself are called first-party cookies; cookies set by another provider whose service is embedded in our pages (such as Google Maps) are called third-party cookies.
2. How we use cookies
We use cookies for a small number of specific purposes:
- Keeping you signed in. When you log in, a session cookie identifies your account so you can move between pages of the Platform without signing in again on every page.
- Security. A cookie-based CSRF (cross-site request forgery) token verifies that forms and actions submitted to the Platform genuinely came from you, protecting your account from malicious requests.
- Remembering your preferences. Settings such as your selected role tab or display preferences may be stored so the site behaves consistently as you browse.
We do not use cookies for advertising, and we do not use third-party analytics or tracking cookies.
3. Cookies we set
- rentgoshen_session (strictly necessary, session cookie) — maintains your logged-in session so you can navigate the Platform without signing in again on every page.
- XSRF-TOKEN (strictly necessary, session cookie) — verifies that requests submitted to the Platform, such as forms, genuinely came from you, protecting against cross-site request forgery.
These cookies are strictly necessary for the Platform to work and cannot be switched off in our systems, as the Platform will not function correctly without them — for example, you would be unable to stay signed in or submit forms securely.
4. Third-party cookies
Some pages embed Google Maps to show property locations. If a map loads, Google may set its own cookies on your device as part of that embed. This is governed by Google's own cookie and privacy policies, not ours, and we do not control what Google does with that data.
5. How to control cookies
Because the cookies we set are strictly necessary, blocking them will prevent you from signing in or using parts of the Platform that require an account. If you'd still like to manage or clear cookies, you can do so through your browser settings:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies (or Site settings) → manage or clear cookies for a site.
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data.
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data.
Consult your browser's help documentation for the exact steps, as menus change between versions.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if we introduce a new cookie or change how an existing one is used. We will post the updated version here and update the effective date above. For material changes, we will notify you by email or a notice on the Platform at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
